Old Vine Red Lot #37
Appellation: California
Owner/Winemaker: Chris Bilbro
Released May 1, 2005
Old Vine Red Lot 37, while loaded
as ever with lush, spicy, ripe, blackberry fruit,
has more complex aromas and flavors than past offerings.
The smooth, lush mouth feel is complimented by a subtle
structural component making for a more serious bottle
of wine. With the purchase of the Mendocino Hill property
in Hopland, we now have access to some additional
fruit that is reflected in the blend as well. Approximately
10% of Lot 37 is comprised of Syrah and Cabernet.
The result is the subtle yet earthy dark fruit nuances
that increase the complexity of the overall wine.
Color: Dark ruby purple
Aroma: Ripe blackberries,
earthy spice, black pepper, and subtle hints of oak.
Palate: Dense, lush round
and mouth filling with thick fruit flavors.
Aging: Best within 1 to 3
years.
