2001 Zinfandel

Appellation: Sonoma County
Owner/Winemaker: Chris Bilbro
Released January 1, 2004

The 2001 Zin is a classic example of the Marietta winemaking style. Ripe jammyness, complimented by balanced soft tannins allow for a huge, "fruit-forward" style wine. This is a wine that will compliment a wide variety of foods ranging from spicy appetizers to prime cut steak to fresh fruit and cheese desserts. Aromatically, this wine offers a lush, ripe nose full of sweet raspberriers and black pepper complimented with hints of oak and earthy tar. It subsequently saturates the palate with raspberries, blackberries, and a touch of swet oak. A nice dollop of fruity tannin and black pepper spice hold and extend the flavors through to a "lip-smacking" finish.
