Angeli Cuvée
Appellation: Alexander
Valley
Owner/Winemaker: Chris
Bilbro
Released January 1, 2004
The 2000
Angeli Cuvée
will easily last a decade,
but waiting that long
would almost waste this
lush, jammy, multi-layered
offering. The sumptuous
blackberry jam aromas
tie beautifully with the
more brooding Petite Sirah
undertones all of which
is backed by and integrated
with hints of toasty oak
and spice. Older Zinfandel
vines don't yield the
tonnages they used to,
but this Angeli Cuvée
is proof of the fact that
what they lack in quantity,
they unquestionably make
up for in quality and
concentration.
